What is Homeopathy?
Homeopathic Remedies
Homeopathic remedies are made from
animal vegetables and the mineral kingdoms. They are greatly diluted
substances which would produce severe symptoms in a patient if
taken in their natural state. By a process of dilution and succession
(shaking) the energy of these medicines is released and acts curatively
where symptoms correspond to those of the patient.
The principle dating back to the Ancient
Greeks is that of" like curing like". For more homeopathic
information see Wikipedia.
For example a good remedy for hay fever is allium sepa which is
made from onion. When we cut an onion our eyes and nose stream
which is similar to the symptoms of hay fever.
Children's homeopathy
I strongly recommend that all families
keep a Homeopathic remedy kit at home and learn how to use it
by following the instructions in the simple booklet inside the
kit, and talking to a Homeopath for further advice when necessary.
There are severa home remedy kits available. Please email
me as I can offer discounts.
Stress Management
Homeopathy helps with the underlying
stress in your body, and can help you to do something about it.
This is the result of feeling better generally, giving yourself
more time to think and most of all, the motivation to take positive
action. We all know about gut feelings, but often dismiss or ignore
them. Homeopathic treatment puts you in touch with your unconscious
thoughts and helps to give you insight into what needs to be done
and, more importantly, the courage to do it!
Background
 |
Homeopathy was created by German
medical practitioner Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann
- a doctor disillusioned with orthodox medicine.
His philosophy was simple -
cure like with like, use medicines from animal, vegetable
and mineral kingdoms and treat the inner disease, which
would in turn heal the outward manifestations.
Thanks to Hahnemann, homeopathy
is now practised world wide. There are many homeopathic
colleges and the interchange of homeopathic knowledge between
countries grows constantly.
